On Aug. 14 at 8:50 a.m. a resident reported that someone might have attempted to break into her home over the weekend. Officers saw small chips in the door frame that could have been caused by a pry bar or other tool. No entry was made into the home and no other damage was observed.

Theft, Hilliard Blvd.

On Aug. 14 at 7:10 p.m. a four-wheel dolly from a truck parked at the Civic Center between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. was reported stolen. The dolly was valued at about $200.

Violation

On Aug. 16 an officer stopped the driver of a 2014 Toyota Corolla for operating with license plates that expired in March 2022. The 34-year-old driver did not have a driver’s license. He was cited for both offenses and the Toyota was impounded.

Suspicious, Bristol Lane

On Aug. 18 at 2:30 p.m. a woman was reported attempting to enter a home through a back window. Officers found a 65-year-old woman at the residence in a 2021 Cadillac. The woman claimed she was friends with the residents and had permission to enter the house. However, she was unable to provide consistent information about the homeowners and was confused. Officers detected indicators of alcohol impairment and administered a series of field sobriety tests before arresting her for drunk driving. An empty bottle of Maker’s Mark whiskey and Tito’s vodka were found in her purse.
